Day 208 Antique Drawer Lion

I really want to re-do this one later on after I figure out how to polish this drawer handle. I love the intricate designs and fine craftsmanship of antique furniture. You just don’t see a lot of that anymore.

Day 171 What’s Your Sign

I have really been struggling lately to come up with decent photos for my daily 366 project. I’m close to half way through it and I’m running out of ideas!

Last night while running through my reader on WordPress, I ran across Dan Miller‘s post titled “Chuck Norris Was Here,” inspired by a Community Collaboration Project going on right now through NickExposed.com. Basically, it’s a scavenger hunt. They have some really good ideas over there, so head on over for some creative inspiration if you have the time.

I thought I would start off with the “What’s Your Sign” prompt. I thought about all the different interpretations of those words and my tattoo came to mind. I wish I could have gotten a clearer shot, but I’ve found that taking photos of myself from an awkward angle can be very challenging!

Hear My Roar

Hear My Roar

Sonnets XIX:
Devouring Time, blunt thou the lion’s paws

By: William Shakespeare

Devouring Time, blunt thou the lion’s paws,
And make the earth devour her own sweet brood;
Pluck the keen teeth from the fierce tiger’s jaws,
And burn the long-liv’d Phoenix in her blood;
Make glad and sorry seasons as thou fleets,
And do whate’er thou wilt, swift-footed Time,
To the wide world and all her fading sweets;
But I forbid thee one more heinous crime:
O, carve not with the hours my love’s fair brow,
Nor draw no lines there with thine antique pen!
Him in thy course untainted do allow
For beauty’s pattern to succeeding men.
Yet do thy worst, old Time! Despite thy wrong
My love shall in my verse ever live young.
